The Wilderness at Fortune Bay

I have had the pleasure of making multiple trips up to The Wilderness at Fortune Bay and the course just seems to be getting better and better. Built in 2004 and adjacent to the Fortune Bay Casino, the Wilderness Course is everything you could ask for in a resort course. Terrific conditions, great service and course that just keeps on giving.

There is a terrific combination of grandeur, beauty and solitude when out on The Wilderness. There are no homes to contend with, just nature and some challenging green complexes. It is one of those places where you feel taken care of from the minute you pull up to the bag drop. There is a great restaurant with patio views of the finishing holes of both 9s, perfect for reliving all your great shots from the day.

If The Wilderness at Fortune Bay was maybe the 6th or 7th best public course in Minnesota, it may not be worth the drive if you coming into Minneapolis or spending part of your time in the Brainerd area. But being one of only three  Minnesota courses listed on Golf Digest’s Top 100 public courses list (#72), The Wilderness is a must play for anyone wanting to play the best of the best.
